Battery Booster Program QLD – Home Battery Rebates

Note: This program is closed to new applications on May 1st, 2024. Information below is for reference only.

Queensland’s Battery Booster offers eligible households a $3,000–$4,000 rebate for an approved home battery of 6 kWh or more when paired with at least a 5 kW solar PV system.

The program is a $10 million initiative which allows Queenslanders with an existing system whom want to add a battery or complete new system and battery purchases.

Rebates were available for households with combined earnings up to $180,000 can get $3,000, while lower-income households under $66,667 may get $4,000. Systems must be Clean Energy Council Approved and Solar Accreditation Australia SAA Installers.

How to claim

Get quotes from an approved installer, secure conditional approval, then install and claim the rebate as directed by the program portal. Your installer will guide the paperwork and ensure the product is on the approved list.

Where this fits with other rebates

You could combine Battery Booster with the federal STC discount on solar panels, but unfortunately, new applications ended before the federal government launched the Cheaper Home Battery Program in July 2025.
