I spoke to someone on the phone this morning and discussed the communication issues I explained in my original two-star review.
It seems like it may have been an unfortunate issue with their phone system not functioning correctly, and I was unable to leave a message when they were out of office. I am confident that if this is sorted out it would have resolved the issues I had and I feel confident recommending them again.
I should note that I was able to have some initial contact with Select Electrical when I first reported the issue, and they did begin to work toward a solution. When I went to schedule a reinstallation with them, they said they would get back to me and from that point I was unable to contact them.
Given that their answering machine wasn’t working for me, it’s understandable they were unaware of my attempts to follow-up. I did try to follow-up via text with a specific staff member and didn’t get a response to the messages I sent on the 30th of October and the 1st of November, but I understand that he could have been busy or unwell at the time. In either case, resolving the answering machine problem is the best solution and I’m confident that they will look into it. 🙂
I really appreciate their efforts to resolve the misunderstanding.
Original Review:
We had a 10kwh system and EV Charger installed by Select Electrical earlier this year. The solar system has been great and presented no issues. The EV Charger, though, eventually failed.
Select Electrical is obviously not the manufacturer of the charger, but they did install it and order it from the distributor.
The distributor has been easy to work with, and has attempted troubleshooting the problem over the phone, they’ve even sent a replacement charger. They have referred me back to Select Electrical for installation of the replacement.
Whether Select is responsible for the issue or not, though, they have been difficult or impossible to contact. I have tried to contact them on the phone multiple times, and there is no answer and no opportunity to leave a message. I have had to resort to texting a particular staff member to discuss the issue with them, and even this staff member has not responded in 5 days, and has ignored follow-up messages.
At the very least I would’ve appreciated clear communication from Select Electrical. As it is, I have no way to get this issue resolved other than pay an electrician out-of-pocket to install the replacement. Owing to Select’s poor communication this issue has been ongoing for a month, leaving me with no way to charge my car for the entire time.
This issue could be solved simply by answering the phone. It doesn’t make me happy to leave a negative review, but this experience has been disappointing and frustrating.

My neighbour referred me to Select Electrical and raved about them. I was doubtful they could be as great as she said, so imagine my surprise and delight to find out that she had undersold them!
From my first interaction with Bernard through to Will and Jon doing the installation, I couldn’t have been happier. Their response time was awesome, their communication was clear, their pricing was competitive and above all, they were punctual, courteous, and respectful of my property.
10/10 recommend!

From my first interaction with their sales it wasn’t just a quote forwarded through , we had a zoom meeting with every detail explained and questions answered. There was no pressure to commit just a genuineness to satisfy all my queries. On accepting the quote, the customer service officer ensured I was kept up to date with the process and scheduling. Again very professional and helpful. Installation was efficient with very polite and proficient technicians explaining their progress. The after service was exemplary with all certifications organised seamlessly. I felt very assured by the expertise and professionalism of the company. Highly recommend.

They worked with me to find the system I needed, not just the biggest one that’d cost the most and give them the biggest margin. Worked quickly to find a time that worked for me, installing both sets of work far sooner than I’d expected. Not cheap but I got what I paid for.

During the initial consultation they explained the different options (with comprehensive knowledge of the products) and the install went smoothly. Their post-installation support was incredible too. You can’t go wrong if you select Select Electrical.

I engaged Select Electrical and Solar Solutions to install solar panels on my house. From the beginning I found the staff to be very professional. The quote was very reasonable and I was under no pressure to immediately sign up. The installation team arrived on time and wasted no time getting to work. They were polite and friendly and I was pleased to see that they all wore harnesses. At the end of the installation a team member helped me to download the relevant App and taught me how to use it. Overall it was a very positive experience. I would recommend this group to other people interested in installing solar.
