I am a new customer to Shinehub and the initial engagement went really well. Ethan was great in getting things installed initially. This is why I have given them one star. They were not the cheapest by any means and not the most expensive but they had good reviews. However, not much feedback for post install. We had two installs on a duplex, 6.6kW system on each with 5kW inverter and 10kW backup battery. The subcontractor came out while we were framing up houses so the wiring could be hidden inside cavities but they could not complete install as we had no electrical boards installed. They returned when I was overseas to complete the install and builder gave them access. System was put online in June 2024 but the contractor locked up that night and left the mains power turned off. That night we had 80mm of rain and basement pumps could not operate without power and basement flooded. Of course they denied wrong doing. Since early September, I have tried to get their app to provide real data as it was giving me rubbish on one site. I also requested blackout protection as it was never explained to me that when blackouts occur, your system does NOT power your house because of safety issues. Calling their switchboard is useless as nobody ever answers and you leave messages that are not returned same day. Your only hope is to email your system manager as they are only contactable via switchboard or email. I’ve had issues with faulty system since early September and subcontractor was allocated in late October to same contractor, Amos. We he was a no show and will not do me a courtesy and call to arrange new appointment. I have to continually liaise with my manager to get a message through to him as he ignores my calls and SMS messages. It is now November and nothing is resolved and my power bill is double what it should be. This is pathetic backup for a system I paid $30,000 for!!! I would not recommend them. On hindsight, I could have gone with Arise Solar for half the cost and received exactly the same service according to their reviews.

I had a great experience when speaking with these guys. Knowledgable, friendly and honest. We’ll be going ahead with a battery installation.

Have just had our panels and battery fitted on a very non-standard roof and we’re very impressed with everyone we dealt with including the subcontractors.

I had used shine hub previously about 7 years ago and it was great so I thought it was an obvious choice to use them again with my new place. I was wrong

The experience was night and day, previously they were professionally, handled everything, kept me up to date all the way through, this time no updates if I didn’t ask for them, often they didn’t know what had happened, it was like the left hand didn’t know what the right was doing.

A example of this was I had called up to complain about the service quality, they agreed it was not professional and I had asked for some reimbursement because of the bad service. I was promised that they would see what they could do and I would get a response before my final invoice was sent to me. So I wasn’t and instead of getting a discount they increased the amount owed. I had to once again call them to get that fixed. They also resent me the invoice without once again calling me.

So save yourself a lot of heart ache and stress and go some place else for your solar needs
