We had a 10kwh system installed in Melbourne in July 2024. Communication in the lead up was very good. Installed all panels and inverter in the single day, very professional and happy with the installation. Contacted Solargain with questions around 3 months later, they were happy to provide information.

Solargain installed our panels 4 years ago. Although there were some mistakes in the installation, that makes the team back again to fix the issues, it was a reasonable work. Until last month, that our roof started leaking.
The design was bad that trapped all the leaves and branches underneath the panels. There is no way that it can be cleaned without removing the panels.
So I had to call them to fix it. And they charged me $290 for half an hour work, removing the leaves under just that panel.
They say this is our responsibility to make this clean, and they don’t accept their design is not maintainable.

I regret using this company, they were “referred” by Ikea so I thought there would have been some due diligence about their service but apparently not.
The installer is fine but the salesperson didn’t take my questions about my electricals seriously, if they had of they would have sent out an electrician to inspect my wiring to see if what I was asking for was possible. He didn’t, so I got a rude shock on the install date, when half the system is already installed, when the installer tells me the consumption monitoring couldn’t be installed, and it led to a bit of a question about whether the whole system would be passed by the inspector (it was, but still waiting for the papers to be submitted regarding the meter upgrade, not sure how that will go). Not what you want to be worried about when you’ve spent thousands on a system. It’s disappointing because I wanted consumption monitoring for a specific reason, but now don’t have it, and I wouldn’t have proceeded with the install if it wasn’t possible to do (I would have done more research and tried to figure out what I needed to modify to get it to work).
When I mentioned this to him he got super defensive and said it was my fault for not asking the right question. I’m not an electrician, I raised my concerns as a non-expert. Given he works for a company that employs electricians he should have gotten an electrician to check over what I was asking.
Then when I asked for a refund for the part that didn’t get installed they low balled me by only discounting their cost price of the unit, which is my fault for not getting them to itemise the cost of each part of the install in the invoice, but it basically means they get to claw back part of the discount they gave me.
Then he sends an email demanding I pay the invoice, when they haven’t even sent me the updated invoice yet.
Other than that the system seems to work fine, and to be fair the other people I have dealt with have been OK, which is why it gets three stars.

This is the second time we have had Solargain installing solar panels for us. In both occasions we were looked after Ramise and she is exceptional. Her attention to detail, customer service are amazing. She makes sure you understand what you are getting and your options which is important to me as I’m not tech savvy.
Installation happened without issues and usage and support after install was great!
