I enquired with approx. 7 different companies for our solar project. It was by far the hardest decision to make on which company to give our project to. We had solar when the initial program was introduced over 10 years ago and had our roof ruined. Our inverter also packed up this year. After speaking with so many companies and coming to the understanding, all companies are offering the same or similar products, but prices varied dramatically. I wasn’t looking the cheapest price, nor did I want to pay a fortune. This is where SSE won over all the others. Sue is the lady to speak to when getting the quote and discussing the project. Sue will give good advise based on your circumstances and budget. Sue also assured me, the installers are employed by them and not contracted out, as many other companies, Sue is a genuine person to deal with and answers any questions you may have. The project ran very smoothly and the boys did a great job. They arrived early and were efficient. The boys removed our old system and fitted the new system all in a day. There were 4 guys that did our solar and were very careful with our roof. I will be using SSE again and would highly recommend them.

I obtained many quotes before deciding to go with Sun Solar and Electrical (SSE). The staff were polite and helpful and gave us a reasonably good deal on a Sungrow 6kW hybrid inverter (so we may, if we decide, fit batteries later) and 7.920kW of Jinko black Neo panels (noting we already have a 4kW system and max allowed on single phase is 10kW of inverters, with max 5 kW feed in).
Final arrangements were made on the Friday and the crew arrived the following Tuesday and removed an old 1.5kW system that was 14 years old and the inverter had failed.
They were here most of the day and had it up and running by late afternoon, but with a software/hardware glitch that took some time to sort out after several visits. However, it was not SSE’s fault and it was sorted as well by the excellent warranty support of Sungrow who supplied another inverter and Smart meter (the latter appearing to be the issue).
So in all, we would recommend Sun, Solar and Electrical to anyone wishing to purchase a solar system. Always remember to get quotes, although the cheapest is not always best.

They have in-house electricians so they can answer technical questions quickly or on the spot. Best of all they have given me the best quote in my survey.

Sun Solar and Electrical offered a good price and based on our past electricity bills of how soon we could recover the cost of our solar system (2 years)and lots of information on how this is achieved.
We were very impressed with the skills and knowledge of the 6 person team who set up the 15 large solar panels on our roof of oversize elderly tiles. A few tiles were broken but replaced and they took away the broken tiles. They also had specially made stainless steel grips to fit our tiles for the solar panel frames. One of the team was an Electrician so the wiring and connection to the Inverter was instantly approved by the Government inspector. If you have modern tiles and no rain the set up would be done in half a day.
