I had to upgrade my existing solar system since my 10 year old inverter died. I asked some friends for a recommendation and SunSmart SC was mentioned as a great option.
Overall I had a good experience with them. Fast turnaround, which I appreciate since any day without solar power was costing me money.
We had a few hiccups but they came out and tried to sort it out. They seem to care about customers’ feedback and seem to be willing to improve their services.
The Knox
had a 20kw system put in with these guys. they have been very professional and great to deal with. They are honest and really care and ensure the system is working properly. Their work was clean and timely, i recommend them to anyone looking for a good local solar supplier!

Earlier this year I decided to increase my PV Solar System fitted to my residence. Via “Solar Quotes” their were three companies on offer and very quickly it became obvious that “Sun Smart Sunshine Coast – Solar & Batteries” were to be the bench mark. Indeed within 36 hours I had a rep visit my property followed by an expeditious and accurate quotation. I awaited a couple days for the remaining two companies, who were no where near as proffessional in their approach.
I had the advanced upgrade system installed and a couple of minor issues sorted in quick time, by weeks end I had exactly what I had paid for. The tradesmen who visited my residence were courteous and polite, cleaning all aspects of the work site after completion.
Within the six months since installation I have had two minor issues which were generally related to WiFi connectivity, and these were resolved promptly and effectively by Matt. After sales service has been exemplary and I cannot recommend SSSC highly enough for cost, proffessional installation and post service & support

We have had quotes from several companies and listened to all the sales presentations and just didn’t like people that we talked to. They were all about getting the sale and not about what we want the system to do for us and our expectations.
Then we called Josh at SunSmart Sunshine Coast. They are Electrician’s that specialise in solar. From first contact to completion of the installation, it was personally professional and courteous.
Josh, who came and gave us the quote, explained everything in a way that made sense instead of the same generic explanations the other companies used. He was the only one that actually got up and measured the roof!
Jayden and Peter did the installation. They were on time ,very courteous, didn’t play loud music and yahoo like some others we have heard close by. They got on with the job and left no mess behind. Handover was made simple.
Can’t forget Callum who organises all the bookings, payment and is available to answer any questions you might have.
Just the best company to deal with.

After a lot of research and a number of quotes I’d highly recommend the team at Sunsmart. Great solid local company. From the initial consult by Josh to the install by Callum and the team they have been honest, reliable and 100% upfront about what we could expect from the 10.56 kw system we had installed. Our wonderful SunSmart Sunshine Coast team have been amazing. New system put on in 2022, wrecked by hail in 2023 and the team have been fantastic by helping us through the insurance maze and having another system put on back in August. They worked closely with the roofing team and nothing was too much trouble. They have just been out to reset a new modem to the system so we can see our solar generation again. SunSmart SC fitted our Hybrid Solar System with batteries a month ago east of Gympie.
We were nervous about making the right choice on selecting from 3 different companies quotes, 2 from local area, and then SunSmart who are just outside our local area.
In the end we feel we have made the very best decision to use SunSmart.
Right from the initial enquiry we have felt we have been given comprehensive, accurate and easy to understand information. Matt was so friendly, very patient and spent a lot of time helping us to understand the terminology, the setup, and the workability of solar & batteries.
He professionally and knowledgeably addressed some previous information that we had been given that we now realise was inaccurate, and options that would have cost more but delivered less, and that would have seen us be disappointed in our solar journey.
After asking questions on our power usage, our household setup, how & when we use power and our expectations for our solar, he promptly designed & quoted a plan that he felt would work best for us. We were really blow away by Matts knowledge of everything solar.
Callum was a joy to deal with when he did the preinstall inspection, providing us more detailed information on the how’s & where’s. He is a very knowledgeable tradesman who made us understand how the install & the product would work on our home & with our situation.
After hounding these poor guys with questions that they promptly & patiently took time to answer, with minimal delay came installation day.
Callum, Josh, Harry and their team of boys worked quickly, carefully & constantly to install our set up. Each one of this team were super professional, very polite & respectful, paid attention to detail and we could see by how they worked that they took pride in a job well done.
The after install follow up & help has been excellent. Nothing has been to much trouble. Matt made sure we felt very comfortable using the Solar App and continues to support us with suggestions & information.
We are high energy users, averaging over $300 per month ($4000 pa) in the last year, care for an elderly parent that needs consistent temperature, and live rural area that gets many blackouts.
We now are in credit with AGL, can provide better care for Dad without worrying about growing energy bills, and now with our Hybrid Inverter & Battery setup we (& more importantly Dad) no longer have worry about those annoying blackouts.
We cannot recommend and thank this reliable, honest and professional local company highly enough.

From the getgo this team stood head & shoulders above the rest.
We personally sat through 8 different solar quotes over a 12 month period (Brisbane & SunnyCoast) & we are so pleased we did.
SunSmart were the last before we were convinced about the products, the processes & most importantly the people involved.
We’ve have only had the Solar up since December 22, so we cant vouch for durability yet, however at this point I dont think we could be happier with the straight talk, no non sense approach to rising power bills.
No one else made the recommendations they did & in hindsight we could have bought the cheapest option & received a poor outcome.
So we were able to get more out of our roof.
Our bills were so high $1000-$1500 per cycle that we had a direct debit in place to avoid the bill shock. For the first time in 13 years at this home in Twin Waters we are in credit with the power company.
So hats off to a top business, Matt has developed an amazing culture in a very competitive business.
Remember when you relentlessly haggle on price, quality must suffer!

Sunsmart gave us outstanding service from start to finish. They came in with the lowest of 5 quotes and when the came out they got up on the roof to inspect – only one othe company did this. The made really good suggestions to optimise our Solar system. When it came to installation the team worked so hard all day and even fixed some broken roof tiles. The quote came in cheaper than expected because they passed on recent reductions in their Solar panels. Sunsmart have even rung us a few times to check all is ok. They have my highest recommendation.
